I don’t buy jarred sauce anymore, not since I’ve been doing the 21 day FIX. Most jarred sauces are filled with preservatives and added SUGAR! So, I had to figure something else out.
And, this recipe for a very SIMPLE TOMATO Sauce from Scratch doesn’t get much easier and my kids LOVE it! I used to make it with DICED tomatoes, but my little one doesn’t like the chunky tomatoes, so now whatever tomatoes I have, I put in the blender for a few quick seconds first.
1 can of whole tomotoes – blended (make sure tomatoes and water are the only ingredients)
3 cloves of Garlic
2 tsp Olive Oil
Heat the olive oil and crushed garlic. You can even add onions if you want, but I don’t love onions. Then just add the tomatoes and stir. A few minutes later add the seasonings to taste. Simmer on low for about 15-20 minutes. We like to add the meatballs right in there if we are having them. I usually throw in some home-made frozen turkey meatballs for about 10 minutes. Cooks right in with the sauce. YUMMY!!!
Serve over your favorite pasta or vegetable!
